Meet our new PTA President!

Let's give a big welcome to Kristen Hudgens as the new 2022-2023 PTA President!

Kristen has 2 sons; a Baldwin 2nd grader and a Kealing 6th grader. This is her 7th year as a Baldwin parent and first year as PTA President.

"I look forward to a great school year, and am excited to see all of the wonderful things to come for our Baldwin community!"

Come meet your teacher on Thursday, August 11th from 4:30 - 6pm. Don't forget to bring your school supplies with you!

Still need school supplies? You can find a link to your teacher-approved list below.

School Supply List
Thursday, August 11: 4:30- 6pm

If you ordered Sprout School Supply kits they will be distributed in the cafeteria at Meet the Teacher on August 11th. Don't forget to pick them up and deliver to the classroom!

August 13th and 14th

Grab your chalk and come decorate Baldwin's sidewalks to welcome back students, teachers, and staff. Be as creative as you like! You are welcome to come up to Baldwin anytime over the weekend (before the 1st day of school).

Please be courteous and respectful to our beloved school property.

Medication Policy Change

AISD has adopted a new medication policy over the summer.  All medications are now required to have a provider's signature or written prescription.  This change should not affect our families with emergency medications for allergies, asthma, seizures, or diabetes as these medications are included on the orders and emergency plans already.  It will affect those that take daily medications and any over the counter medications during the school day.  We still need our parents to sign a medication authorization form.  Your child's provider can either sign the parent authorization form or provide their own form.  Please also note that prescription labels will now need a provider's signature as well. The health room is available for any questions.  We are happy to take any medications this week if that is better for your schedule.  Please give us a call to set up a time at 512-841-8908.   Medications do need to be transferred from adult to adult at this age. All forms are available on our website under the health room section (middle right of the page) https://baldwin.austinschools.org/

Looking forward to a great year, Trisha Krogstad, BSN, RN, NCSN

Do you have an interest in joining the Baldwin PTA? We need a few more key players to make it the best year yet! The role doesn't have to be held alone, you can even share it with a friend or two! Check out some of our openings:

This role sounds fancy, but you would act as a facilitator for the bylaws, consultant to manage meetings and mentor for members on parliamentary procedure. You are the PTA Presidents right-hand person, but she is super fun, so it's really easy!

The Historian attends the board meetings and records the volunteer hours at all meetings and PTA events, using a tool such as a tally sheet or excel spreadsheet. Anyone can do this!

Programs Team Members

This is the perfect role for those who enjoy event planning! We need a few more helping hands to make the events this year a success. (For example: Santa Night, Family Dance, Carnival). This is not a single-person role, there is already a lead!

Volunteer Coordinator

This role works with the PTA president, principal and teachers to coordinate volunteer assignments at the school to support student success. It's is a lot of fun!

Do you love to network and are friendly to everyone? Then this role is for you! We need one, two or even three additional helpers to make our Baldwin Bobcat PTA community thrive and well-funded!

Bueller!?! Bueller?!!

Can't commit to one single role, have too much to do or too much on your plate? Just drop us a line and when we need some help or you have time, we can reach out. And trust us, we will be so thankful!
