SUBJECT: The ROAR Newsletter - November 2022

November 11, 2022
Wow, is it really November?!!?

We are so thrilled that so many of you came out to the Fall Festival and supported our Baldwin community! It was a huge success and from the looks of it, the children and adults all had so much fun!

We want to give a special shout-out to our team of volunteers that worked SO HARD these last few months. From the committee, vendors, the event coordination, the back-end details, the day of details, the superheroes who volunteered for the dunk tank, those who donated raffle items, snacks, sodas, and candy, the Pack 12 cleanup crew, and a final thank you to the Bobcat families that purchased snacks, food, tickets, and wristbands - THANK YOU ALL!

Yearbook Reminder: If you have pictures from these last few months of school, please upload them HERE or email photos to yearbook@baldwinpta.org

We still have a busy November and December before our long holiday break, so please take a few minutes to read all of the information below. Thank you all for being so supportive and helping our Bobcat Community thrive!

Care & Share Reminders

Care & Share 2022 has officially begun! As an annual Baldwin ES tradition, Care & Share brings our community together to assist 20+ Bobcat families during the holiday season with donations of toys and clothing. Please consider signing up for one or more items through this Sign-Up Genius link.

A few reminders:

  • Please do NOT gift-wrap the donations.
  • Securely mark each item with the family/child ID using masking tape or blue tape. For clothing, place items in a bag and mark the family/child ID on the outside of the bag.
  • Drop off gifts at the school. Look for the Care & Share sign on a cart OUTSIDE by the flagpole. Please leave them on the cart. The cart will be brought in by the end of school each day.
  • Items are due Friday, December 9th by morning drop off.

Interested in donating your time for Care & Share? We need parent volunteers to help sort gifts at the school on November 30th and December 12th at 8:00AM to 9:15AM. You do not need to sign up for both days, but you certainly can.

Please contact Kim Nguyen, Care & Share Program Coordinator, at kn1984@gmail.com if you'd like to help.

Reflections Ceremony & Gallery

Congratulations to all participants of this year's Reflections Art Program! We will be celebrating the artists at our next PTA meeting on Thursday, November 17th at 4:45pm. Everyone is invited to browse the Reflections Gallery in the school lobby beginning next week and view the entries on our website. http://www.baldwinpta.org/reflections

Each year, three (3) recipients are awarded a $500 scholarship for post-high school educational opportunities.

All graduating seniors who attended Baldwin are welcome to apply. The deadline for scholarship submissions is January 28, 2023.

Questions? Contact Alexis Webster, scholarship@baldwinpta.org

A Note from the Health Room

Baldwin's Health Room could use some restocking!
We are in need of size 8-12 shorts, pants, and/or leggings. We could also use size 12+ shorts.  Elastic waistbands are always appreciated! Thank you in advance! Trisha Krogstad, Baldwin School Nurse

Gratitude Notes

Every Thanksgiving the counseling staff sends each person who works at Baldwin a "thank you" email with quotes from their colleagues, parents, and some students.  It's a wonderful "pick me up" and a terrific way to start the holiday season.

Please take some time this month to submit a note of gratitude to our teachers and staff using this google form. Imagine how they'll feel when they get an email full of praise for who they are and what they do for our school.
