SUBJECT: Baldwin ROAR - October 2022 Newsletter

October 16, 2022
Welcome to October!

We cannot believe that this month, we have two of our most popular events: Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat. We have merged these two events together to make this day double the fun! Our team of volunteers has worked SO HARD to make this event a huge success and now we need YOUR HELP!

Just a reminder, a wristband is ONLY needed for attractions (think bounce house, petting zoo, etc.) and the event is free to attend.

Please be sure to read below for even more info:

  • Purchase wristbands and tickets here: Baldwin Fall Festival

  • Sign up for volunteer positions (before, during, and after the carnival).

  • Not able to volunteer but still want to help? Check out our Amazon Wishlist. These items will be used to fill raffle baskets and as extra Trunk or Treat goodies.

  • Want to decorate your car for Trunk-or-Treat or donate candy? Click here!

  • Know a High Schooler that needs volunteer hours? Send them this sign-up sheet!

  • Need additional information or have questions? Check out our website here.

  • We are also requesting each Grade Level to donate drinks. These can be delivered to the foyer any time before the festival:
    • Pre-K/Kinder- Coke 12 pack
    • 1st Grade – Diet Coke 12 pack
    • 2nd Grade- Sprite 12 pack

We are halfway through our Love Your School No Hassle Fundraiser and it is off to a Roaring great start! No door-to-door knocking; no selling candy or wrapping paper; just a donation!  Cutting out the sales of traditional fundraising items, allows Baldwin to put 100% of your generous donations (fewer processing fees) into our school’s countless programs and enhance the learning of our students!

Thank you for the many generous donations we have received so far! If you haven't had a chance to donate yet, you have until October 31st. We appreciate your support!

Baldwin CATCH Corner

This month our Baldwin PE Wellness Unit is Cardiovascular Functions and Muscular Strength and Endurance

  • Let's try increasing our heart rates for at least 60 minutes a day. Now that the weather is hopefully starting to get cooler, we encourage you to go outside with your families to achieve 60 minutes of daily activity.

  • Family nature walks and bike rides are an excellent way to do this, or playground fun is easy for kids to get their heart rates up!

  • Marathon Kids also started at Baldwin. Parents don't forget you can log your child's Marathon Kids online, and these activity suggestions are a great way to increase miles outside of school!

  • Once you have your account set up, you can follow your child’s progress and submit miles completed at home.

Halloween Candy Buyback: The Baldwin PTA will be collecting leftover Halloween candy for Moody Orthodontics Candy Buy Back Program to support Operation Gratitude. They will be donating $2 per pound of candy they receive. Be on the lookout for more information!

Baldwin's Health Room could use some restocking!
We are in need of size 8-12 shorts, pants, and/or leggings. We could also use size 12+ shorts.  Elastic waistbands are always appreciated! Thank you in advance! Trisha Krogstad, Baldwin School Nurse
